For Our Non-Jewish Friends: Creating an Inhabitable World
The non-Jewish nations are destined to play a key role in the transformation of the world, and never was their role more important now. In addition to prayer, charity, acts of goodness and kindness, and doing whatever possible to support the Jewish people’s claim to the entire Holy land, there are specific commandments - guidance given directly by the Creator - just for them.
When the Torah was given to Moses at Mount Sinai, it included seven commandments that were to be given to the peoples of the world. These commandments, followed sincerely with the understanding that they were revealed by G-d (Ha shem) through Moses to the children of Israel at Mount Sinai, bring Divine guidance and blessings into our lives, help us to sort through the often complex and confusing issues of our times, and ultimately, guarantee a society that works - an inhabitable world.
Maimonides states "Whoever among the Nations fulfills the Seven Commandments to serve God belongs to the Righteous among the Nations, and has his share in the
World to Come."
